The only drawback that I can see is the cost of the unit and the discs. With DS-1, I use it several nights a week, and often go to sleep with it running. With the Uncle Milton, it was something I brought out every once in a while to show off. I would definitely recommend the Chrome disk, which is like $100 more, but it's 4 million stars, and really the closest thing I've seen to looking at the actual night sky. Also, the image doesn't distort near the edges, as long as it's pointing straight up. The projected image is amazing! Much brighter, clearer, and with a larger FoV than the Uncle Milton. As well as the optional night-light which is really cool. It comes with several cool features like different rotation speeds, dimmer, and shooting star. The unit itself is very good quality and well made. I also have an Uncle Milton, and the DS-1 is like night and day: a HUGE improvement. Although expensive, it's really worth it IMO if you're in to stargazing and would enjoy a home planetarium. I picked up the DS-1 when they were first released, with the Chrome disk.
